Gubb - Superb Web Based To Do and List Management

Gubb likely just became a staple in my workflow management. It’s a very cleanly designed web based to-do/list manager. It’s receiving rave reviews across the blogosphere.

Gubb is the perfect example of why good design matters. It has a clean and visually appealing interface but more importantly scores highly in the usability department.

Here’s where Gubb makes sense for me:

- Drag-and-drop your list items

- View all lists at once (you can also drag-and-drop where the lists appear on the page)

- Minimize lists or even hide them

- Control the number of columns in the page (e.g., you can have three columns to have three lists side-by-side)

There is also a collaborative element to Gubb, although I’ve not experimented with it to this point.

Great job by the folks who put out Gubb. Others should look to this service as the way to approach building new productivity and business tools.

How does this compare to the “Remember the Milk” application that you blogged about here:

    http://www.technosight.com/add-tasks-to-google-calendar-and-other-cool-things-remember-the-milk-does/

Does it have (or are there plans to add) gCal integration?

As you know (now), it doesn’t. Personally the RTM integration was cool but from my perspective not functional enough to use regularly.

So, I’m back to waiting for Google Tasks in GCal or for someone like Gubb to make it so.

Is it then safe to say you will personally be using Gubb over RTM moving forward and that you consider Gubb the BEST task/to do management system you’ve come across?

Personally, yes. It serves my purposes better and gives a lot of flexibility. And I use it in a Bubble or more recently NetJaxer, which gives me quick access in my Taskbar (you Mac guys wouldn’t understand).

I’m done with RTM. After an hour with gubb, I am sold. It is the best app out there.

Your right we Mac guys wouldn’t understand why one would use “bubbles” over “widgets” and soon you Windows (Vista) guys won’t understand either b/c you’ll all be using “gadgets” (which are so much different than Mac’s “widgets” as NYT Tech columnist David Pogue highlights in his video here:

(to be fair, Apple stole the idea from Konfabulator. :)
